Inoviem Scientific and DeepLife partner to advance novel target discovery in IBD

Strasbourg and Paris, France, 26 August 2026 — Inoviem Scientific, a translational pharmacology company specialising in evaluating drug activity and mechanisms directly in human pathological tissue, and DeepLife, a Paris-based techbio company developing AI-powered digital twins of human cells, today announced a strategic collaboration focused on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Through the collaboration, DeepLife leverages TwinCell, its proprietary virtual cells engine, an AI engine that integrates single-cell omics, causal modeling and cell-type-specific networks, to identify and prioritize novel target hypotheses in IBD along with their underlying cellular mechanisms. Inoviem then evaluates selected compounds or interventions linked to those targets in fresh human tissue to determine whether the predicted mechanisms produce measurable biological effects.

The initial programme will use fresh intestinal biopsies from patients in need of innovative drugs. By combining computational modelling with translational pharmacology, the companies aim to explore a more direct route from therapeutic hypothesis generation to experimental evidence in human disease tissue.

The collaboration establishes a lab-in-the-loop workflow that connects TwinCell-driven therapeutic prioritisation with direct human tissue evaluation, enabling pharmaceutical and biotechnology teams to iteratively refine therapeutic targets and make more informed go/no-go decisions earlier in the drug development process.
